Thoughts about Religion

Religion in a sense is a form of mass control. Get a bunch of people believing the same thing and you have a uniform ideology born. People have a way to resolve problems, a uniform way to get around the usual problems in life, like getting married, resolving fueds and so on and so forth.

To me, religion in text and its pure form, is a peace loving way for people to get along harmoniously.

However, throughout most of human history religion has caused more problems I would argue than peace. It gave a reason for people to say they are from this certain religion, who's views and beliefs trump another persons religion. Mine is better than yours. Mine is the truth. Mine is right.

But all religions teach tolerance, compassion, and love to other humans. We seem to forget that in modern day religion. Religion has been manipulated to fit agenda's, to justify killing and hate and have diverted completely from the original and pure form of religion.

Evolution

An interesting topic that has rocked both the scientific and the religious world is Darwin's theory of evolution. In maintaining my theme about religion and science co-existing and complementing each other I would like to raise a certain point.

Now most religious people believe evolution contradicts religion and therefore cannot exist. While most scientists would agree that the evolution is a very solid theory, and therefore it is truth.

I agree with both sides, and although that may seem hard to justify here is my explanation.

To me evolution is God's mechanism of allowing species to change in order to survive. Everything around us, is held together by a perfect balance. The universe, planetary orbits, everything is maintained through this perfect scientific equation. Now this equation is what people study and label as science. It has always been existent from day one. Gravity did not start existing when Newton discovered it, rather it has always been there and Newton just labeled this ever existing force.

My argument here is that science is the study of Gods perfect equation.

Science and Religion

Science and Religion are not polar opposites. Rather, they are both branches of the same tree growing towards the same light. The light of wisdom, universal understanding and the most luminous of all lights: the light of truth.

Thousands of humans have spent their lives picking or choosing which branch they belong too, failing to realize, in my opinion, that all branches in a tree grow from the same seed and belong to the same trunk.

Science and Religion are both ways of humans to explain their existence...because we seem to have an innate fear of uncertainty. Religion tells you the story of creation, science tells you the story of the big bang. Both in attempts to explain truth and create a solid understanding of what we know as reality.

And although religion and science are not exact replicas of each other and tend to differ in their details of what reality is, they are both methods of explaining what truth is. And even though they take different roads when explaining....the roads lead to the same destination: TRUTH.
